A lot as been recorded so far and can't be re-mentioned but of course archived in the mind of people who witnessed the scenarios. This brought about several questions in the mind of people concerned.., questions of whether the school environment would be safe for students, questions of proper running of school activities as JAC is still on Strike, questions of peaceful environment... and several other questions yet answered.
With respect to that, the Futa student union leaders urge for peace among the embattled students and other parties involved in this kardo. it was emphatically stated in a press statement from the Futasu President, signed by his Gen. sec and Pro respectively... statement reads:
"The Federal University of Technology, Akure Students' Union Government (FUTASUG) is using this medium to welcome all FUTA Students - both fresh and returning students - to using University for the commencement of academic activities for the First semester of the 2016/2017 session.
In preparation for the resumption, the leadership of the FUTASUG held a high-level 6-hours meeting yesterday, Monday, January 2nd, 2016 with the University Management, representatives of Alumni, and FUTASUG stakeholders at the T.I. Francis Auditorium.
The FUTASUG was fully kept abreast on the steps taken by the management for the smooth commencement of academic activities. The union was fully informed of the various steps taking by the University Management and the Alumni to resolve the ongoing impasse with JAC.
The FUTASUG is convinced beyond reasonable doubt that all necessary steps have been taken to forestall a breakdown of law and order on campus.
On this note, the FUTASUG is appealing to all students to remain calm and peaceful while going about their respective registration and lectures.
All issues relating to the recent fracas between the FUTASUG and JAC members which has heated up the polity in the rank and file of the FUTA Student's Movement have been thoroughly addressed. The Student's Union is using this medium to appeal to all aggrieved students and students' leaders to tow the line of total peace, civility, decorum and high level of tolerance on campus as FUTASUG is resolutely committed to the imperative of peace and dialogue in resolving all crisis rocking FUTA.
