Later that day, I got a video footage showing mobile policemen rendering thunderous slaps on no other person than my own Students Union President, Comrade Olusegun Oladele and other student leaders. I went numb. What got me spilling tears was the inhuman and gross manhandling meted on the Dean by the uniform men. Maybe I should let you know that, that day was his birthday! So, what he got for a birthday gift was some batter and slaps from people who are far behind him by all standards?
Dear FUTA Joint Action Congress, I have taken time to find out your grievances. At first, we were made to believe you are fighting for the progress of the institution. Alas, that is a far cry from the truth! You brought up "evidence" proving fraudulent transactions by the Vice Chancellor -Professor A. G. Daramola and the bursar -Mr Emmanuel Oresegun; the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) delved into it and declared it fabricated. Yet, you said the Vice Chancellor must go. Please, on what grounds?
The Governing Council has given its verdict and set up a crisis resolution committee. Please, sheath your sword. We will be resuming back to school on 3rd January, 2017 as scheduled in our new 2016/2017 academic calendar. Do well to do your duties as you are been paid for and let us pretend these never happened. Update the official website, open our lecture rooms, laboratories, halls of residence and everywhere under your watch. Just do yourselves the favour of resuming to work with us. Anything short of these... Well, we are coming!
